How we verify reviews

Every review on this site comes from an order we can point to. Nobody else can post one.

Where a review comes from

Twenty-one days after your order reaches you, we email you a link. That link is the only way to write a review here. It is built from your order, works for the one thing you bought, and can be used once.

There is no review box on our product pages, no account to create, and no way to submit a review without having bought the thing first. We ask once. If you ignore the email, we do not ask again.

We do not buy reviews, trade them, seed them, or write them ourselves. Nobody is paid, discounted, or entered into anything for leaving one.

What gets published

Your rating, your headline if you wrote one, your review, and your first name with the country the order went to. Nothing else from your order is ever shown — not your surname, not your address, not your email, not what else you bought.

Reviews are read by a person before they appear, usually within a day. That check is for spam, abuse, and anything unlawful. It is not a taste test.

What gets removed — and what never does

We remove a review only when it is spam, abusive, unlawful, not about the product, or not a review at all. Every removal is recorded with its reason.

A review is never removed for being critical, negative, or one star. A shop that deletes bad reviews is not showing you reviews, it is showing you an advertisement — and under EU law that is misrepresentation, not curation.

If you wrote a review and want it taken down, reply to your order email and we will remove it. No reason needed.

Star ratings

The average and the star rating on a product page are calculated from these verified reviews and nothing else. We publish an average only once a product has at least three of them — one review is a story, not an average.

Ratings you may see quoted from Goodreads or Amazon elsewhere on this site are theirs, clearly labelled as theirs, and never folded into ours.

Services

Publishing clients are invited to review a completed engagement the same way, by a link we send when the work is finished. Those reviews carry no star rating — they are published as text, because a service is not a product with a shelf life and we would rather you read what a client actually said.

Your statutory rights

EU law requires a trader who shows consumer reviews to say whether and how it checks that they come from real buyers. This page is that statement: we check by minting the review link from the order itself, and no other route exists. Publishing reviews we had not verified while claiming we had, or suppressing genuine ones, are both banned practices under the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive as amended by Directive (EU) 2019/2161.
